Made It To Mississippi

We finally made it. The drive and ride was nice. Oh, I don't drive. Doug hasn't let me drive yet
I don't know why. That is OK though, if he finds out I can do it better than he can....Guess What? I'll be driving all the time. NO THANKS.
Never the less, we made it safe and sound. Thanks to GOD. We always ask God for traveling grace. Well the first place we stopped was at the welcome center and picked up brochures and schedules.

This immediately sparked my attention. The sign was right outside of the welcome center, so I had an agenda. I wanted to go to the battle ground where the siege took place. The day was really nice and warm, almost hot....86......but the evening and the night were suppose to be pretty bad. Tornados, high winds, rain, hail etc.......we'll see.

This is a veterans cemetery. This is also later the same evening of our arrival, very windy, very chilly and getting cold. Perhaps something could happen tonight, like rain, and tornados.

This cemetery is very big, it not only has a veterans section, it has a general populace and many spouses of veterans. There are also specific areas for the different ranks, divided by service organization and they states these men and women were from.

The oldest grave marker I saw was 1799. Posted by Picasa
